A screenwriter born in Tokusue, Kitahata, Ide Toshiro wrote numerous scripts for television and the big screen, beginning with Aoi Sanmyaku.
Born April 11, 1910, to pawn shop owners. He also lived temporarily at another house which was the former Saga Bank branch in Tokusue.

After graduating, Mr. Ide worked designing magazine covers, but came to the attention of film producer Fujimoto Sanezumi (who would later become the senior managing director of Toho)and was offered a position at Toho Co. Ltd. He helped establish the early Toho chain of movie theaters, and was also the manager of Hakata Toho.
In August 1944 Ide joined the Kurume 48th Regiment and was assigned to military intelligence. He was demobilized in September 1945.
After the war, Ide returned to Toho. In 1948, his ghost written script for Aoi Sanmyaku received positive reviews, and he became a scenario writer.
Ide's works (among others) include the films Repast, Third Class Executives, An Inlet of Muddy Water, Wife, Keisatsu Nikki, The Dancing Girl of Izu, A Wanderer's Notebook, Kaikyo, and Banka. Television credits include What's the Youth? And Nobuko to Obaachan.
In 2010, to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Ide Toshiro's birth, the Karatsuyaki no Sato Film Festival was held.
